Lachance wins pair of Super Bowls

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – January 7, 2004 – Mike Lachance guided both My Blue Jeans and Keystone Harrier to victory, capturing two of the seven $12,500 divisions of the Super Bowl Series on Wednesday night at the Meadowlands.

Lachance won the first division, carded as the second race, with longshot Keystone Harrier [$73.40, $26.80, $7.60] by three-quarters of a length over Budle of Gold [$8.00, $4.60]. It was a length and three-quarters to Boston Affair [$54.40] in third.

The mile was trotted in 1:58.3. Keystone Harrier is trained and owned by Norton Shoemaker III of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.

Lachance was back in the winner’s circle in the third race with My Blue Jeans [$5.60, $3.60, $3.20], a homebred from the Lindy Racing Stable of Enfield, Connecticut. The Brett Pelling trainee drew off to a length and a quarter victory over L’Argent Hall [$10.40, $7.60]. Rose Run Ego [$9.20] was third by three and a quarter lengths.

My Blue Jeans covered the mile in 1:59.1.

The Super Bowl Series continues next Wednesday night, leading to a $70,000 estimated final on January 21.
