East Rutherford, NJ — It took a four horse photo finish to award the victory by a head to Lady Chelan ($32.80, $8.20, $3.60) in the fifth race, the second of three $12,500 divisions of the White Ruffles Series on Tuesday night at the Meadowlands. Lady Chelan edged out 3-5 favorite Midnight Art ($2.80, $2.60) and Millenium Missle ($6.00). It was a neck back to B Merry in fourth. Lady Chelan, a four-year-old daughter of Pacific Fella, driven by Mike Lachance and trained by Mark Jordan, paced the mile in 1:562. Owned by Richard Mannon of Flemington, New Jersey, Lady Chelan added $6,250 to lift her career bankroll to $10,882. In the other two divisions, Tripleplay Hanover ($3.60, $2.40, $2.20) won by a length and three-quarters over Four Starzzzz Ittt in 1:544 and Sheer Sahbra ($6.80, $4.00, $3.40) won by three-quarters of a length over Ex Libris Hanover in 1:561. The White Ruffles Series continues next Tuesday with a $50,000 estimated final on January 20.
