Washington, PA — Lady Ping found a way off the cones when a rival broke stride and the 2-5 favorite exploded through the lane to capture her third straight in Wednesday’s (Dec. 27)$18,000 Filly & Mare Preferred Handicap Trot at The Meadows.

Lady Ping was stalking Bessie from the pocket when Rose Run Reanna ranged up alongside and appeared to relegate Lady Ping to the Lightning Lane. But when Rose Run Reanna jumped it off, Dave Palone angled Lady Ping off the pylons and showed her racetrack.
The 5-year-old daughter of Muscle Mass-Ping Putter responded with a big brush and a win by a widening 2-3/4 lengths in 1:56.1. Classical Annie, the winner’s stablemate, finished second, with Dreamsteeler third.
Ron Burke trains Lady Ping, who extended her lifetime bankroll to $210,564 for Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.
Mike Wilder piloted three winners on the 13-race card.
