Washington, PA — Lady’s Dude yielded the lead to Classicality after a contested first quarter but brushed by him late in the Lightning Lane to capture Monday’s (June 18) $18,000 Preferred Handicap Trot at The Meadows.
Although Lady’s Dude couldn’t keep Classicality from the front, he stretched his rival out to a demanding :27 panel. That might have been just the edge he needed, as the 7-year-old Victory Sam-Lady’s Star gelding scored for Tony Hall in 1:53, downing Classicality by three-quarters of a length. The first-over Call For Justice finished third.
Ron Burke trains Lady’s Dude, who now boasts $716,258 in career earnings, for Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi and Johnny Yoder.
Dave Palone, Mike Wilder and Hall each collected three wins on the 13-race card.
