Northfield, OH — Lakeisha Hall crossed the finish line faster than any other 3-year-old filly pacer in the history of Northfield Park when she won the $14,000 Filly and Mare Open Handicap in 1:52 on Saturday (Oct. 1). The clocking formally broke the 1:52.3 record held by both Pan And Teller (Brett Miller) set in 2004 and Purrfect Bags (Tim Tetrick) paced in 2015.
Lakeisha Hall (Third Straight-Lantana-Art Major) started from post six. She fired off the gate and led her competition through fractions of :27, :56.2, 1:24.2 and 1:52, besting her colleagues by seven lengths.
Burke Racing Stable LLC, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and Jack Piatt II own Lakeisha Hall. Ron Burke is her conditioner and Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. was in the sulky for the winning drive.
Lakeisha Hall now has seven wins in 11 starts this year. Saturday’s victory represents her 11th career score and bolstered her bankroll to $242,325. She returned $6.80 to win.
