Washington, PA — Latest Desire followed live cover into the final turn, then brushed wide through the lane to capture Saturday’s (Dec. 10) feature at The Meadows.
Latest Desire was fourth down the backside when Dan Rawlings tipped him off the pylons to follow the first-over Shooter’s Dream. The 6-year-old Real Desire-Latest Design gelding kicked into high gear when he shed his cover and scored in 1:52.2, holding off the rallying Kingofthejungle by a half-length.
Early leader Dapper Dude saved show.
Dirk Simpson trains Latest Desire, who extended his career bankroll to $353,936, for Steven Newcom and Larry Taylor.
Tony Hall collected five wins on the 13-race card while Aaron Merriman and Rawlings each enjoyed a triple.
