Lee, Beltrami win NAADA events

Yonkers, NY — Joe Lee and Tony Beltrami captured their respective $10,000 North American Amateur Drivers Association events on Thursday night (Oct. 21) at Yonkers Raceway, winning with Swancredit and Dark Pool, respectively.

In the first division, Lee tucked Swancredit into third as Matt Zuccarello showed the way with Stealing through a :30.4 quarter. Nearing the :59.4 half, Scott Keppler advanced on the limb with Judge Ken, moving alongside Stealing and keeping pressure on the pacesetter past three-quarters in 1:29.1. When they headed for home, Stealing dismissed Judge Ken and braced for a late rally from Swancredit, who rallied off cover to win by a neck in 2:00. Stealing proved a game second; Grafenberg, in rein to Joe Faraldo, finished third, 2-1/2 lengths behind.

In the other split, Lee sent Makin Trouble N to the lead from post seven, and then yielded command to Dark Pool, who brushed from third, before the :59.2 halfway point. Up the backstretch, Dark Pool opened up a two-length lead, hitting three-quarters in 1:28.2 and crossing the finish line in 1:58.2, 2-1/4 lengths in front of Trump This and Scott Keppler. All Night Credit (Zuccarello) was third.
