East Rutherford, NJ — The second race on the card Friday night (May 18) at the Meadowlands featured nine trotters going to post in the third leg of the amateur GSY Hot To Trot Series.
Joe Lee, driving favorite Global Revolution, took command from the start and never looked back. The race looked like it was going to shape up into a speed duel with several horses leaving, but everyone found a spot up front and Lee set the pace from there.
He carved out very sensible fractions for the first half-mile and was able to stave off the challenge of Rockin Redford, with Roy Marohn in the sulky, who ended up second, some two lengths back. Rounding out the trifecta was pocket sitter A Stitch In Time, driven by Bob Davis. He held onto third over a hard luck and adventurous trip for Inukchuk Chuck, with newcomer to the series Mark Schullstrom, who was out for a majority of the mile but still managed a game fourth. The mile ended up being timed in a moderate 1:56.1.
Global Revolution is a 6-year-old gelding by Conway Hall and is owned by Bill Lambos and Dionisios Liberatos. The trainer is Robert Bongiorno.
The fourth leg of the Hot To Trot Series will be contested next Friday night at The Big M. The first post is slated for 7:15 p.m.
