from the Ontario Racing Commission
Toronto, ON — Chair Rod Seiling announced that the Government of Ontario has re-appointed John W. Macdonald, Q.C. of Toronto as a member of the Ontario Racing Commission for a period of three years, effective Dec. 1, 2011.
He was first named to the ORC Board in 2009.
Called to the bar in 1962 and awarded the distinction of a Queen’s Counsel in 1979, Mr. Macdonald is a lawyer with experience in general practice, primarily of a corporate and commercial nature including clients that race, breed and sell horses.
“John’s service as a Commissioner — and particularly as a panel member — has been a great asset to the ORC,” said Seiling. “Participants have benefited from his first-hand knowledge of horse racing and his abiding sense of fairness. I look forward to this record of service continuing.”
