Edgerton, OH — The Attica Independent Fair at Attica and the Champaign County Fair at Urbana both played host to the Ohio Ladies Pace Series on Wednesday (Aug. 9) with Attica racing in the afternoon and Urbana racing in the evening.
Ulrika Fox and Mandy Jones each took advantage of the difference in post times by competing at both fairs.
Nineteen-year-old Madison Cullipher picked up her first lifetime driving win by steering Reidio Star (Cheyenne Rei-Sara Lahar) to victory at Attica. Skip DeMull trains the 9-year-old mare for owner Carolyn Toyer. Reidio Star toured the Attica oval in 2:03.
The evening race at Urbana required a much faster time for Devan Miller to reach the winner’s circle with Naked By Nine (Manhardt-Innocent Sahbra) as the 4-year-old mare stopped the timer in 1:55.4. Dennis Shaner pays the bills on Naked By Nine with Mark Winters Sr. doing the conditioning.
Mandy Jones continues to lead in the point standings for the Ohio Ladies Pace Series with 388 points. Ulrika Fox is in the runner-up spot with 300 points followed by Devan Miller in third with 208 points.
The next stop for the ladies will be at the Miami County Fair at Troy on Wednesday (Aug. 16).
