Maven captured her elimination for the Armbro Flight Stake in 1:52.4 on Friday at Mohawk Racetrack.

Driven by Yannick Gingras, the daughter of Glidemaster captured the Breeders Crown last year at Woodbine before equaling the Canadian record in her first start as an aged mare earlier this season.

Intense America (Sylvain Filion) was first to the front to lead her seven rivals past the opening station in :27.2. Daylon Miracle (Dave Wall) was in the pocket with Cook Off (James MacDonald) sitting third.

Intense America would continue to lead past the half in :56.2 and three-quarters in 1:24.2.

Beatgoeson Hanover (David Miller) began the first-over attack around the final turn, providing live cover to Maven.

Gingras angled Maven three-wide at the three-quarter pole and the 17-time winner responded as she took over command in deep stretch en route to the victory. Bax Of Life (Chris Christoforou) came from off-the-pace to finish second, with Intense America third.

Trained by Jonas Czernyson for owner William Donovan, Maven remained a perfect-two-for-two to start the season. She paid $2.40.

The other split went to Personal Style, who notched her second win of the season with a solid 1:53.1 victory.

In that elimination, China Pearls (Randy Waples) was hustled to the lead well before the opening panel in a quick :26.3. Dorsay (Corey Callaghan) was in the pocket with Mystical Starlight (Jody Jamieson) sitting third.

The O’Brien Award-winning China Pearls continued to lead past the half in :55.3 and three-quarters in 1:24.1.

One More Ginny (Mario Baillargeon) began the first-over attack around the final turn, giving cover to post time favorite Personal Style (David Miller).

Down the stretch, Personal Style angled off cover took over command in deep stretch to score the narrow victory. Cedar Dove (Ron Pierce) finished second, with Unefoisdansmavie (Yannick Gingras) third.

Trained by Richard ‘Nifty’ Norman for owners Melvin Hartman and Brittany Farms, Personal Style celebrated back-to-back wins.

The C$271,470 Armbro Flight Final will go postward on Saturday, June 15 as part of Pepsi North America Cup night at Mohawk. Both of the elimination winners were able to select their post position for the final.
