Max attacks early, wins Meadows feature

Washington, PA — Max seized the point with a quarter-pole move and rolled to a comfortable victory in Thursday’s (Jan. 26) feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $15,400 conditioned trot.

Max had barely settled into third when Ronnie Wrenn Jr. sent him to the top. The 8-year-old Yankee Glide-Winlite gelding easily dismissed the first-over challenge of Barn Hall and evaded the rallying Alana Hill by a length in 1:55.2 over a “good” surface. Early leader Spy Booth completed the ticket.

Max brushed and crushed in Thursday’s featured trot at The Meadows, serving as the cornerstone of hat tricks for both trainer Ron Burke and driver Ronnie Wrenn Jr. Chris Gooden photo.

Ron Burke trains Max, who now boasts career earnings of $378,547, for Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.

Wrenn and Burke each enjoyed a triple on the 13-race card.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Friday (Jan. 27), when the 13-race program features a $752.84 carryover in the Pick-5 (races 9-13). First post is 12:45 p.m.
