Meadowlands policy on 2021 Breeders Crown entries

East Rutherford, NJ — The Meadowlands management is announcing that in order to be eligible to participate in 2021 Breeders Crown events, which are owned and sponsored by the Hambletonian Society, a horse is required, by no later than Sept. 1, to be in the stable of a trainer who is accepted to participate at The Meadowlands, as determined by The Meadowlands.

This is a slight departure from the language in the conditions for all stakes administered by The Meadowlands. The standard requirement is that horses in stakes races be in the stable of an approved trainer by May 15. The purpose of this modification is to afford accepted owners the opportunity to place their 2021 Breeders Crown eligible horses with a trainer that will be able to race them.

This does not include, and The Meadowlands reserves the right to reject the entry of, any horse whose ownership is excluded from participation at The Meadowlands.

Owners that may be uncertain of their status or that of any trainer may contact Brice Cote at BCote@playmeadowlands.com.
