Medoland Model A was a 1:53 winner for Yannick Gingras.

Medoland Model A, owned and trained by Bill Mullin of Plains, Pa., gunned to the outside on the first turn and made the lead shortly after the three-eighths-mile mark despite taking a bad step. Once on the lead, the 6-year-old gelding endured a huge challenge from the race favorite, Fox Valley Rumble, on the outside, and he briefly fell a neck behind. But driver Yannick Gingras asked for more in the stretch and Medoland Model A responded to win by almost a length in 1:53. Fox Valley Rumble settled for second and Persuader Raider got up for third.

It was the fourth win in eight starts in 2007 for Medoland Model A. For Mullin, it was his second straight day with a late closer win. He also trains He’s Mine Stratto, who won the Spring Training Trot final on Monday.
