Melander highlights Post Time Thursday

Elkton, MD — Post Time with Mike and Mike presented by the USTA/BetAmerica, is excited to announce the line-up for Thursday morning (June 19) at 10:30 a.m. They will be joined by Marcus Melander, Rick Moore, Montrell Teague, and Tony Schadel.

Melander joins the show to talk about his top three Hambletonian contenders (Gimpanzee, Greenshoe, and Green Manalishi S). Both Greenshoe and Green Manalishi S are entered in Saturday’s Earl Beal Jr. Memorial eliminations at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono. Melander will talk about how they have been training up to the race and the pair will ask Melander when fans can expect to see Gimpanzee back on the track.

The four Harrah’s properties (Indiana Grand, Hoosier Park, Philadelphia, and Louisiana Downs) will host a handicapping challenge on Saturday (June 22) featuring a top prize of $20,000, a seat at the $3 million (est.) National Horseplayers Championship, and an additional $1 million cash prize if the winner of the Caesars Rewards Handicapping Challenge also wins the NHC. The pair will talk with Rick Moore from Harrah’s Hoosier Park about the contest and how patrons can enter for a chance at the top prizes.

Teague comes into Saturday’s Pocono eliminations with Lather Up (Ben Franklin) and Goldberg (Max Hempt Memorial), two of the top tiered horses in their respective divisions. The pair will discuss with Teague how they have been training and what fans can expect to see from them this weekend.

Schadel, co-owner of Aflame Hanover, who has been in top form as of late, will join to talk about his prized gelding. Although winless in 2019, he has proven he can hang with some of the top 3-year-old pacers in the country. The pair will discuss with Schadel what it has been like to own a horse of this caliber and what his plans are for the rest of the year.
