Mervin Schmucker wins GLADA trot at Van Wert, Ohio

Van Wert, OH – The Great Lakes Amateur Drivers Club went back to its roots for a five horse trot, Monday (Sept. 6), over the swift double oval at the Van Wert, Ohio fair and when the judges posted the official sign Mervin Schmuker emerged victorious with Riverdancing Diva in 2:01.3.

After getting away second from the two hole Schmucker was content to allow Tyler Price and Windsong Patriot to show the lead past the quarter in :30 and by the half in 1:00.1.

But as the field headed to the three quarters Schmucker was out and going and when they headed to the three quarters he urged Riverdancing Diva to the lead and they got first call there and then showed the way to the wire and held on for a neck triumph over K Love who was driven by Mandy Jones. Jazmin Arnold garnered the show dough with Golden Son.

Schmucker trains the winning horse for owners Double Ee Meadows.

Sent off at odds of 2-1 Riverdancing Diva paid $6.00 for win.
