Michael Weller, 60, dies

Columbus, OH — Michael A. Weller age 60 died Tuesday, May 21, 2019.

He was born October 23, 1958, in Defiance, the son of Richard “Dick” and Connie (Dimock) Weller. He was a 1977 graduate of Paulding High School and was employed at Johns Manville for 15 years. 

He was a self-employed horse trainer since 1988 and was #1 horse trainer in Cleveland, Indiana, and Ontario, Canada.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, going to the lake, fishing and horseraces. 

He is survived by his wife, Susan Woodyatt, Ontario; parents, Dick and Connie Weller of Defiance, daughter, Emily (Trent) Woodin, Continental; stepchildren, Megan and Dylan Woodyatt, Canada; grandchildren, Trista and Remington Michael Woodin, Continental; siblings, Randy Weller and Sheila “Babe” Weller of Defiance, and Tracy (Dan Craig) Weller of Middlefield, Ohio; nephew, Branson Weller, and niece, Breelyn Weller. 

He is preceded in death by grandparents.

Visitation will be Friday, May 31, 2019, from 11 AM until 5 PM.  Services will be at 6 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations made C/O Emily Woodin for an educational fund for his grandchildren.
