Campbellville, ON — Some of the sport’s most impressive older pacing mares will face off in a single C$50,000 elimination for the upcoming C$394,000 Milton Stakes, this Saturday night, September 22, at Mohawk Raceway.

Among them will be C$2 million earner Invitro, owned and trained by Cobourg, Ontario’s Gord Irwin, and listed in the morning line as the 5-2 favorite, along with recent Breeders Crown elimination winner Ideal Weather, a 4-year-old daughter of Western Ideal who will go postward for trainer Ron Parsons and owners Sylvia Burke of Fredericktown, Pa., Lawrence Karr of Randolph, N.J., and Thomas Cherichello of Las Vegas, Nev.

The connections of three additional mares — Moving Pictures (recent winner of the Breeders Crown Open Mare Pace at Mohawk), Armbro Dancer (trained by Jimmy Takter, with a lifetime mark of 1:49.3), and Darlin’s Delight (who looks to push her bankroll past the C$2 million mark with a win) — have accepted byes into the September 29 final, so this weekend’s event will eliminate three horses from the 10-horse field.

Catch the action in race eight, at 9:46 p.m. Post time at Mohawk is 7:20 p.m. (EDT).
