Milby and Davis dominate Sunday card at Rosecroft

Ft. Washington, MD — Frank Milby and Allan Davis dominated the Sunday night (Oct. 28) card at Rosecroft Raceway.

Milby won four races on the night and Davis three, including the two top pacing features on the night.

In the $12,000 Open, Al’s Hammered ($7.00) moved to the front after the first quarter and was never headed in a 1:52.1 score for trainer Martin Davis and owners Eddie and Kathleen Davis. Hickory Aloha (Timmy Offutt) was second and Rocktavious (Frank Milby) was third.

Davis found the winner’s circle with Downthehighwy in the winners over $6,000 last five pace in 1:52. Tyler Davis and All The Cookies cut it out with big fractions of :26.2, :55.3, 1:23.3 only to see the winner take advantage of his work, bursting out of the pocket for the win. Reginald Hazzard II and Legacy Racing of Delaware own the winner for trainer Wayne Givens. All The Cookies held for second, while Outstand Forever (Jason Thompson) was third.

Davis paid handsomely for Jeremes General’s supporters, returning $10.40 as a class dropper Sunday night.

Milby backers had a solid night. His win aboard BWT Taj in the $9,000 featured trot returned $18.60. Favorite Blownoutofthewater (Ricky Still) had a terrible trip from post eight and yet still finished second. Don Dorado (Allan Davis) was third.

Milby got owner Howard Birney a fine birthday present as PL Hoofhearted notched a win in 1:52.4 and paid a whopping $27.20. Milby guided Rock The Game ($11.80) to a win for Breakaway Racing and trainer Shaun Callahan as well as favored Extreme Machine N ($4.20) for owners Jeff and David Clark.

Russell Foster posted a double. The pari-mutuel puzzler of the night was Foster winning with B A Rocket. Sent off at 20-1 off a 9-2 morning line, Foster left hard from post seven and secured a pocket trip behind pacesetter Dance On The Beach (Roger Plante). Jack Quick (Jonathan Roberts) went on the first over attack and flushed Anderson Valley (Sean Bier) before the three-quarter mark and they wore down the leader as B A Rocket went inside to the passing lane and found victory in a great four horse photo at the wire. The 3-year old gelding by Cam’s Rocket is now two-for-two for new owner-trainer Brian Callahan and paid a delicious $43.00 to win.
