Ft. Washington, MD — Rosecroft leading dash driver Frank Milby strengthened his hold on the top spot as he won five races on the Wednesday night (May 2) card in Fort Washington, Md.
Milby started the night off right away with an impressive win with Maryland Sires Stakes 3-year-old contender Princess Rusty. The daughter of Rusty’s For Real scorched the Rosecroft oval in a lifetime tying 1:53.3 for owner-breeder Al Carter and trainer Michael Hall.
In race two, her main foe, HS Shauna, who won six as a 2-year old, won for trainer-driver Joseph Carroll in 1:53.4.
Milby also won with Hillbilly Heartache ($4.60) for the Hillbilly Haven Farms and trainer Amanda Jackson. Milby won with the 12-year-old mare Rhapsody Rose ($7.60) for the Twin Ponds Stable and trainer John Hollingsworth. Milby capped off the night sweeping the late double with RC’s Super Toy ($8.20) for Rusty Cox and Relentless Dreamer ($4.80) for Edward Gutin and trainer Jody Dunning.
Ricky Still won two races with Upfront Supersonic and Capital Builder. Upfront Supersonic ($4.00) won for the fourth time in five starts for owner-trainer Brittany Bounds in 1:53.3. Still sprinted away from post eight with Capital Builder ($17.00) and rolled in 1:52.2 for owner Bib Roberts and trainer Megan Roberts.
Kim Vincent also posted a double winning back-to-back races with his own trainee Nefarious ($4.00) for Providence West Inc. Vincent came right back in the next race with Philly Fanatic ($21.40) closing late for a 1:54.3 score.
Rosecroft returns with weekend action Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 4:40 p.m.
