Columbus, OH — Having a Nisonger behind a horse on the track at Scioto Downs isn’t anything unusual as Jeff Nisonger has long been one of the top drivers at the track. On Saturday night (September 10), however, Jeff’s wife and two daughters are going to take their turn in the spotlight as they will lead the post parades for several Super Night races driving registered mini horses.
So while Jeff is driving in the pari-mutuel races, wife Stacey and daughters Alexa and Abby will be leading the way in post parades.
The two minis are named Patches and Blue. Blue is a black-and-white 9-year-old registered mini gelding. He’s owned by the Nisonger family. Patches is a 13-year-old red-and-white gelding, a registered mini horse, and he’s owned by the Hagemeyer family, long a fixture in Ohio harness racing.
Scioto’s Saturday night program consists of 14 races including eight Ohio Sires Stakes championships.
