Monticello to host races for U.S. veterans on Nov. 10

Monticello, NY – Efforts by NAADA and the CADC to present races for U.S. armed forces veterans who are also amateur drivers are coming to fruition,  according to NAADA vice president Alan Schwartz. Competing veterans will help raise funds for the local Veterans Food Bank.

Events are being planned for Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov. 10, and any armed forces veteran interested in competing in the race(s) is urged to contact Alan Schwartz at 845.791.7747 or Monticello Raceway’s Director of Racing, Eric Warner, at 845.794.4100 x557.

At the end of the racing program on Veterans Day, monies raised will be donated to the veterans food pantry of Sullivan County of New York.

The Veterans Amateur Driving Challenge is open to former servicemen who are also amateur drivers licensed by the United States Trotting Association and/or Standardbred Canada.

To enter the event(s) or for further information, please contact Eric Warner or Alan Schwartz at the numbers above.

Both amateur organizations are urging those who plan on competing on the race card that day to bring along a non-perishable canned food which will also be delivered to the local veterans food pantry.
