Delaware, OH — Dan Noble drove Morningsailer to victory in the first ever half-mile race on Wednesday (September 21) at the Delaware County Fair.
Raced in the rain over a “good” track, the 4-year-old gelding paced in :57.1.
Noble picked up his 10th victory of the 2011 Delaware meeting and his 584th of the season. Morningsailer, a son of Dawn Ofa New Day, is owned and trained by Eddie George of Zanesville, Ohio.
Morningsailer grabbed the early lead from post three and never trailed, beating Checkeredsbigchris by two lengths with Stand Tall McGraw third. The winner paid $6.00, 3.00, 2.40. Morningsailer’s best time for a mile race is 1:57.2.
