Moyer and Still post driving triples at Rosecroft

Ft. Washington, MD — Jared Moyer and Ricky Still had driving triples and Kim Vincent lit up the toteboard in the opener on his way to a driving double Wednesday night (March 6) at Rosecroft Raceway.

Moyer scored an early win with Woodyintheshade ($15.80) for owner John Wagner and trainer Arlene Cameron. Then, Moyer brought late night heroics with back-to-back wins in races 11 and 12. Cameron had a training triple on the night.

Yoga Pants ($2.80) scored an easy win for Cameron, while,Tammy and Gary Crescenze nailed an owning double as Always A Rose sat patiently in the pocket and eased by pacesetter Pop Writer in the stretch to win in 1:55.1. The 5-year-old daughter of Always A Virgin returned $8.00 to start the late double.

Still’s third win of the night completed the late double as DB’s Rosco seized on an early break at the gate by PL Hoofhearted, jetting to the top and winning in 1:54.4 for Brittany and Michael Bounds.

Still captured a win with Lindy’s Big Bang, last year’s Dexter Cup winner and fifth place finisher in last year’s Yonkers Trot, in 1:57 for new owners Midsize Construction Incorporated.

Still grabbed the first win of the night for the Crescenze family, winning with Gigolos Rose, who bested heavy favorite Lima Illusion in 1:57.4. The 4-year-old daughter of Ameripan Gigolo is conditioned by Amanda Malone.

Vincent set the tone for the night as Always Persevere rallied from seventh to edge Tom’s Treasure in 1:55.4, paying a whopping $126.20 for owner-trainer Kevin Fitzgerald.

Vincent scored his second win of the night with the talented but temperamental Wildman for Phil Jasper. Vincent yielded briefly to Foxland and Frank Milby who left hard from post nine. Once Vincent returned Wildman to the front, he rated a money middle half :59.1 and the only thing left to do was take a picture in 1:56.2.

Brian Burton took the featured $12,500 Maryland Exclusive handicap for mares with Breadcrumb Income. After an eventful first quarter which saw multiple leaders, Burton brushed the daughter of Nuclear Breeze to the lead and held off Rowdy Patti in 1:54.3 at 9-1. It triggered a healthy $145.60 exacta.
