Monticello, NY — The first of the five legs in the two-track trotting series sponsored by the North American Amateur Drivers Association will be presented on Thursday (Oct. 6) at Monticello Raceway. The following week, events will also be raced at Yonkers Raceway.
This upcoming series will also be a means to raise money for the the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
Slated as race number four on The Mighty M’s 13-race card on Oct. 6, the event is filled with members of the C.K.G. Billings Series who are also members of NAADA.
Favored in that contest is Tremendous Hit in spite of having to leave from the seven hole. A seven-time winner thus far this season, the Giant Hit gelding, with a seasonal mark of 1:59.1, will once again be driven by Bob Hechkoff.
Arguably the biggest obstacles for Tremendous Hit will be Millbrook Mille and Wen-Mar’s Handsome. The former, handled by Bob Krikorian, comes into the event off a 2:03 triumph in her last start and the latter, with Alan Schwartz aboard, was a 2:02.1 winner last time out.
The series is open to all amateur drivers who are NAADA members, although their trotters must meet certain criteria for eligibility.
After the Monticello race the next leg will be at Yonkers Raceway on Thursday (Oct. 13).
