National Standardbred Horse Show set for Aug. 9-11

Millstone Township, NJ — The 25th annual National Standardbred Horse Show will take place Aug. 9-11 at the Horse Park of New Jersey in Allentown, N.J.

The prize list and entry form are now available online at www.sphonj.org. Pre-registration will close July 29.

New for this year is the 25th Anniversary Division, which includes 11 classes from multiple disciplines. The high point horse and exhibitor in this division will be awarded $250, with $125 going to the runner-up.

As always, the War Horse Division (horses with at least $200,000 in earnings or 100 lifetime starts or are at least 20 years of age), Fresh Off The Track Division (horses that have raced on or after Aug. 12, 2018), and New Jersey-bred Division (horses that are sired or foaled in the state of New Jersey) must pre-register. All participants are encouraged to pre-register and save the added late fees.

On Friday night (Aug. 9) at 7 p.m., speed events, including the second annual Sam McKee Barrel Race, will take place. The English, equitation and hunter divisions will take place on Saturday morning (Aug. 10), while the Saturday evening session will feature jumpers at 6 p.m., as well as a pizza party in the pavilion. On Sunday (Aug. 11), the show concludes with the showmanship, in-hand, Western, gaited and driving divisions.

Note that dressage events will be held Saturday and Sunday for the convenience of exhibitors. Please see the schedule for more information.
