Manalapan, NJ — The deadline to apply for the SBOANJ resident mare rebate program has been extended to Oct. 1.
It was brought to the attention of the SBOANJ that there was some confusion as to the requirements for the rebate program for New Jersey resident mares.
The Mare Residency Rebate program is for mares that reside in New Jersey for at least 150 days and have been bred. The program will rebate up to $500 to the owners of qualified mares. For mares bred to a New Jersey stallion, the foal must be made eligible to the New Jersey Sire Stakes program. Rebate payment will be made before the end of the year.
For resident mares bred to stallions outside of New Jersey, the mare must be eligible to the New Jersey Sire Stakes Standardbred Development Fund which requires that the mare reside in New Jersey for 150 days up to and including foaling. The $100 eligibility fee will be paid directly to the New Jersey Sire Stakes and deducted from the refund.
If you have not sent in your application for the resident mare rebate, please go to the SBOANJ website and download the 2016 SBOANJ Renaissance Form Part 1.
