New owner seminar in Indiana

Seymour, IN — The Indiana Standardbred Breed Development Program, in co-operation with Hoosier Park, will offer an introductory course for new owners on Saturday, May 26, at 2:00 p.m. at the Anderson track.

The educational seminar is designed to introduce people to the basics of horse ownership. Topics to be presented include costs, risks, and rewards of racehorse ownership, as well as the ins and outs of choosing a trainer and a horse. In addition, the tax implications of ownership will be discussed.

The course is free, but advanced registration is requested. Attendees will be given reference materials and a subscription to Hoof Beats magazine. All participants will receive free admission to the races, a free racing program, and dinner at the track.
