Nikasa N dominates Harrington Mares Open

Harrington, DE — Roy Parker Jr.’s Nikasa N was a decisive wire-to-wire 1:54.4 winner in Tuesday’s (Sept. 6) $20,000 Mares Open at Harrington Raceway over a sloppy racetrack.

The strategy was never in question for Nikasa N as driver Montrell Teague promptly stepped on the gas from post three and placed the Eddie Dennis trainee on the front end to cruise through fractions of :27, :56 and 1:25. She opened up multiple lengths on the field at the top of the stretch and was under confident handling to the wire in her three-length score over Anneke and Designed To Dance.

It was the fourth win of the year for the 6-year-old Bettor’s Delight mare, who paid $7.40 to win. The win also gave Teague a driving double on the program, joining Victor Kirby, Ross Wolfenden and Allan Davis.
