North American plans for Bold Eagle have been scratched

Plans to ship legendary top French trotter Bold Eagle to race in Canada and the United States this autumn have been scratched after the 9-year-old trotter finished seventh in the Prix Rene Balliere last Sunday (June 21) at Vincennes.

The plan was to race Bold Eagle in the Maple Leaf Trot on Sept. 5 at Woodbine Mohawk Park and later bring the trotter back to race in the Breeders Crown at Hoosier Park on Oct. 31 and after that race, Bold Eagle would be retired from racing.

Now Bold Eagle will make his final appearance on the Belgium track in Mons in the Grand Prix de Wallonie on Aug. 2. His lad for many years, Hugues Monthule, will have the honor of driving Bold Eagle in the race.

Bold Eagle is the second richest French trotter ever with earnings of 4,980,467 Euros.
