Northfield horsemen’s auction set for May 2

by Amy Hollar

Northfield, OH — Plans are underway for the 2007 Northfield Park horsemen’s emergency fund auction. The event, scheduled for Wednesday, May 2, will take place in the track paddock at 6:00 p.m.

Back as master of ceremonies will be Jeffrey Otto from Jefferson, Ohio, who has drawn rave reviews for the entertaining show he puts on as auctioneer.

Some of the items to be auctioned will be horse related, but many household goods will also be sold. Handcrafted Amish furniture and homemade Amish food are always popular sellers at the auction. This year will also feature sporting memorabilia and game day tickets to the Cleveland Indians.

Horseman Tye Loy has donated a 42 pound turkey which he raised himself, and will be cooked up as part of the refreshment stand sandwiches.

Plus this year will feature the debut of “Horse Pile Bingo.”

Donations are being sought and can be dropped off at the OHHA trailer at Northfield Park or arrangements can be made by contacting Amy Hollar at (330) 467-9487 or Bill and Terri Mt. Pleasant at (330) 608-7486.

More importantly all horsemen and the public are invited to attend the event with the entire family.
