Oak Ridge Racetrack to host Virginia races

by Craig Andow

Kenbridge, VA — Virginia bred, owned or sired races are going to be held Oct. 10-11 and Oct. 17-18 at Oak Ridge Racetrack in Arrington, Va.

This will be the second time since 2001 we are having a harness meet at this historic track built by the late John Holland Jr. and family. We will be hosting the Virginia Breeders races for 2- and 3-year-olds (eliminations and finals) plus we will try to get support for a number of series races. If they don’t fill, we will write a condition sheet for horses after Sept. 12.

We hope to see all, especially the Virginia owned, bred and sired horses of past years, and people who’ve supported us. We will need all the support for this re-opening.

Minimum purse for series and overnights will be $4,000 to as high as $7,000.

If you need to contact me, call 551-204-1796.

A stall application is available at this link and must be received on or before Sept. 12 (limited stalls are available).
