Grove City, OH — The Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association’s annual banquet and USTA District 1 annual meeting will be held Saturday (Jan. 13) at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Columbus-Worthington (175 Hutchinson Ave., Columbus, OH 43235).
Ten divisional horse winners will be celebrated as well as many horsemen for a great 2017 racing season. There will also be a Horse of the Year award revealed at the end of the banquet.

There are other activities you don’t want to miss during the day on Jan. 13, including the annual P.A.C.E.R. Ohio Stallion Service Auction. New to the auction this year are driver/trainer cutouts. Remember the cutouts that were shared on the OHHA Facebook page during the Delaware County Fair? They are available and can be yours. The bidding process for the cutouts is the same as for the stallions.
The auction will begin Jan. 5, taking online bids at http://wedoauctions.net/ohha. Saturday (Jan. 13) at 10 a.m. bidding will also be available via telephone by calling 1.800.353.6442 or 614.221.3650. Bidding both online and via telephone will close at 5 p.m.
The annual First Lady’s Luncheon will be held again this year, too. This year instead of a gift exchange, the ladies will be sharing gifts with those who visit Haven House of Pickaway County, a domestic violence and homeless shelter in Pickaway County. A representative from the shelter will come and speak and the ladies will be decorating gift bags that they will then fill with various items that will help someone in need.
The ladies also invite you to share in bringing items to the banquet to donate to the shelter. Items that the shelter is always in need of include umbrellas, warm socks, cough drops, anti-bacterial wipes, hand sanitizer, antibacterial soap, Lysol spray, children’s cough syrup, lotion, cold and flu medicine for adults and chap stick. Items can be dropped off at the Haven House table in the Atrium at the banquet. Thank you in advance to anyone who participated in the drive.
