Toronto, ON — Seven 3-year-old filly trotters were entered Monday morning (September 12) for the Ontario Sire Stakes Gold elimination scheduled to be contested on Thursday (September 15) at Mohawk Racetrack.
The OSS rules state that if there are not more horses entered in the elimination than can compete in the final, the elimination will be canceled and all horses will be considered declared directly into the final to be held the following week.
Therefore, the Gold elimination for 3-year-old filly trotters scheduled for September 13 at Mohawk Racetrack is canceled. The C$40,000 purse for the Gold elimination will be added to the regular purse for the final, making a total Gold final purse for this event of C$170,000.
The Gold final will be held on Thursday (September 22) as scheduled and the post positions will be drawn on Thursday (September 15), when the final would normally have been drawn.
According to OSS rules concerning the points for the Super Final, the 100 points from the canceled elimination will be distributed equally between the seven horses that entered the event.
