Toronto, ON — Driver Luc Ouellette made five trips to the winner’s circle on Saturday evening (Nov. 26) during the 11-race program at Woodbine Racetrack.
Ouellette, who sits sixth on Woodbine Entertainment Group’s driver standings, kicked off the night with a victory in the first race. He guided U Bettor Watch Out ($3.70, 1:51.1), a Shawn Robinson trainee, to victory and followed it up by winning the fourth race with the David Menary-trained Good Bad Lucky ($5.60, 1:50.3).
Ouellette then pulled off an upset in the sixth race with Celebrity Playboy ($25.50, 1:55.2). The reinsman also trains the 7-year-old gelding.
In the eighth race, the Ben Baillargeon pupil Famous Mark ($6.80, 1:55.2) held on to win by a neck and in the ninth Ouellette scored with Reibercrombie ($3.70, 1:50.4) for trainer Casie Coleman.
The Campbellville, Ontario resident has banked more than C$3.7 million in purses so far this season with 130 victories.
Driver Sylvain Filion also had a good night at the office. The Milton, Ontario resident won three races, sweeping both of Saturday’s featured dashes in the process.
Filion won the C$38,000 Preferred Pace with the Mark Austin trainee Sparky Mark ($3.00) in an eye-catching 1:49 and the C$30,000 Preferred 2 Pace with Ok Boromir ($13.80, 1:51.4) for trainer Frank Baker, Jr.
