Ourlittlemiracle converts pocket trip to Meadows victory; handle exceeds $1 million

Washington, PA — Ourlittlemiracle let Lydeo do the heavy lifting on the front end, then kicked by her in the Lightning Lane to capture Thursday’s (June 8) feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $12,100 conditioned pace for fillies and mares.

Lydeo was pressured for much of the back half by Party Cruiser, who sustained her first-over bid. That set the stage for Ourlittlemiracle’s winning move. The 5-year-old daughter of Bettor’s Delight-Machnbyrd Princess threw down a :28 final quarter for Dave Palone to edge Lydeo by a head in 1:51.3. The game Party Cruiser finished third.

Ourlittlemiracle rode the pocket to a sharp 1:51.3 victory in Thursday’s top distaff pace at The Meadows. Chris Gooden photo.

Ron Burke trains Ourlittlemiracle, who extended her lifetime bankroll to $211,163, for Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.

Mike Wilder led all drivers with four wins on the card.

The Meadows records largest handle of 2023

The total all-source handle of $1,066,550 on the 12-race card was the largest of the 2023 season, and the highest total for a single card at The Meadows since Adios Day in July 2022.

“We’d like to thank all of the bettors for their support,” said Meadows director of racing Scott Lishia. “It was a successful day, and that’s also due in part to our horsemen for keeping us supplied with large fields.”

Of the 12 races, 11 had full fields of nine programmed, with one field of eight.

The Meadows returns to action on Friday evening (June 9) with a 5:10 p.m. post time. Saturday’s (June 10) post will be 11:30 a.m. — an early Triple Crown starting time — featuring 14 races including several stakes events.
