Saint, John, NB — Pacific Sonata, owned by Dr. Ian Moore of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island and William Shearer of Bedford, Nova Scotia, showed he will be a factor in this year’s Maritime free for all circuit as he toyed with his five rivals on Saturday afternoon at Exhibition Park, winning in 2:054 on a track that was rated at least six seconds off.
Sonata carved out fractions of :291, 1:003, and 1:332 before drawing away in the 2:054 win over a sloppy track. Bev C Down stayed with the pacer for most of the mile, but in the end was no match. Come On Scoot was third.

Charlie Burke, a Maine owned pacer had a great effort winning in 2:072 over the poor track.
