Bob Pandolfo offers his picks for the $50,000 Pick-4 at Meadowlands Racetrack on Feb. 2, part of the U.S. Trotting Association Strategic Wagering Program. Meadowlands Pick-4, Races 6-9, Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012 I didn’t hit Saturday night, minus $16, which brings the total to minus $195 for the first 11 nights. Tonight’s sequence looks hittable, but it’s never easy. $2 play: 10/28/45/3410 = $24 Analysis: Race 6: (10) Take A Walk will probably be the favorite despite drawing post 10. He chased a good one in his second qualifier and has a lot of upside making only fourth career start; I’ll single him. Race 7: (8) Jimmy Whizbang made a nice move and held the show in a NW3 race last time. This six-time winner faces weaker here, most of these are still eligible for NW2. (2) I’m The Pied Piper is well bred and well regarded, qualified sharp for a trainer who can win with a firster. I’ll use these two. Race 8: (4) Queen Of The Starts raced gamely over the track in first start of the year. (5) Runaway Rose comes off a short layoff, held okay in a fast qualifier and hails from hot connections. Race 9: (10) Pilgrims Toner was used hard leaving and came to a stop in return; drops and is the class. I’m also going to use (3) Avogardro Hanover who comes off a sharp effort against tougher, and (4) Lobo Billy, off a sharp qualifier.
