Bob Pandolfo offers his picks for the $50,000 Pick-4 at Meadowlands Racetrack on Jan. 13, part of the U.S. Trotting Association Strategic Wagering Program. Meadowlands Pick-4, Races 6-9, Friday, Jan. 13, 2012 I didn’t hit last night, minus $24, which brings the total to minus $48 for the first three nights. I used the $84 winner of the ninth race, which was getting a huge driver change to Campbell, but I did not have the winners of races 6 and 7. The Pick-4 paid over $8,000. $1 play: 69/45/47/23 = $16 Analysis: 6th Race: There are several ways you could go in this wide open race. (9) Summer Hope should be sharper in second start since August and drops. (6) Southwind Swallow raced well against a tougher field in last. 7th Race: (5) Mach My Word ships in sharp from Woodbine and lands in a high percentage barn. I’ll also use (4) Flowmaster, coming off a sharp placing over the track. 8th Race: (4) Cameron Chip finished well from post 10 in last and could be much sharper in second start since July. (7) Tsmlil Orphan Andy is trained by Tyler Raymer, an excellent trotting trainer and he didn’t have the best trip in last. 9th Race: This is an interesting experiment with 14 horses going a mile and a half. (2) Tearful Reunion gets a key driver change to Andy Miller. (3) Civilized Hanover has been strong on the front end at Monticello and has the best recent form.
