Peter ‘Bud’ Kehl, 86, dies

Attica, NY — Peter B. “Bud” Kehl, 86, of Attica, NY, a former member of the board of directors of Upstate Milk Co-operative, died Monday (July 30, 2012) at Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw.

He was born Jan. 20, 1926, in Sheldon, the son of the late Levi and Agnes George Kehl.


Bud was a dairy farmer and the owner of the Kehldale Farm in Attica. He was a member of the American Holstein Club, Harness Horse Breeders, Western New York Horseman’s Association and the United States Trotting Association. He was also a member and President of the Wyoming County Fair Association for 21 years and a member of Warsaw Moose Lodge No. 560. Bud was a member of St’s Joachim and Anne Church (formerly St. Vincent de Paul Church) in Attica and St. John Neumann Church (formerly St. Cecilia’s Church) in Sheldon.


Surviving is his loving wife of 65 years, Audrey Ripstein Kehl of Attica; five children, Patricia (Jerry) Romesser of Attica, Sandra (Steve) Moroz of Warsaw, Timothy Kehl (David Hoffend) of Rochester, Lou Ann (Ronald) Eschenlauer of Dansville and Mark (Theresa) Kehl of Bliss. Bud is survived by twelve grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. He is the brother of Roslyn (Blain) Nonnengard of Batavia, Elizabeth (Robert) Reisdorf of Strykersville, Dorothy Irvin of North Carolina and the late Francis Kehl. Surviving also are many nieces, nephews and cousins.


There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Cecilia’s Church in Sheldon. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Cecilia’s Cemetery at a later date. The family requests memorials be made to the Wyoming County Fair Association, P.O. Box 128, Castile, NY 14427. Arrangements were completed by the Marley Funeral Home in Attica.
