Driver Justin Irvine took advantage of the inside post position to take the early lead. Facing an early challenge by Don’tcallmefrancis (Lindsay Moen), Princess Rockette dictated all the numbers, pacing in :27.3, :55.4, 1:24.3 then held off a late challenge by the giant known as Southwind Amazon, a winner of $1,316,221 with a lifetime best 1:48.3f entering the race, who was driven by Art McIlmurray.

Princess Rockette covered the mile distance in 1:54.1, just one tick off of her own track record for aged pacing mares set back on April 30th of this year at Northville Downs. That marks the 23rd career win in 75 career starts.

Princess Rockette is trained by Will Johnson for owner George R. Hensley, Jr.

Northville Downs resumes live racing next Friday and Saturday night (June 10-11). Post time each racing night remains 7:30 p.m.
