Race replays now available on Monticello Web site

Monticello, NY — Handicappers are in for a treat, at least those who prefer wagering on the races at Monticello Raceway.

Now all the races are archived and racing fans can go back and view the video of any race on any program as far back as April 2007 by going to www.monticelloraceway.com on their computers.

“This really has to be a boon for bettors. Not only can they use their racing forms to handicap their choices but they will have the added advantage to be able call up any past performance and view the race of the horse they are studying and perhaps considering wagering on,” said Shawn Wiles, Monticello Raceway’s Assistant General Manger.

For months Wiles, along with Maureen Flynn, the track’s Director of Pari-Mutuels and Simulcasting, have been working with Roberts Communications to offer this service to the betting public.

“But this service isn’t only for bettors. It can be utilized by owners who may not have had the chance to travel to the Mighty M to see their horse race in person and should that have been the case they can now call up that date and race on the track’s Web site and see their horse’s journey throughout the mile,” Wiles added.

Viewing the replays on the Monticello Raceway Web site is easy. Fans can go to the home page — or the racing results page — and click the video racing results icon. A monthly calendar will appear and one just needs to click the date and when they do the race numbers from that day will appear alongside and a simple click of the mouse over that race number will show that race in its entirety. And the complete race card can be viewed if desired.

This system is especially valuable for bettors who wager on Monticello’s daily racing program. Just minutes after a race is completed fans can view that race in its entirety and get the official results and payoffs.

As an added bonus — since the races are archived — fans can call-up any race date going back to early 2007 and view a race. And for those who didn’t get a chance to see last season’s Magnificent Seven stakes races and/or their elimination events, with this system they can call up the race dates and see all or any part of a race they may have missed.
