Montpelier, OH — The Williams County Fair at Montpelier, Ohio, hosted its first session of harness racing on Sunday afternoon (September 11). Eight races were contested under sunny skies.
Jerry Lighthill steered Eckley Lane Emily (Scallion Hanover-Our Lady Countess) to victory in the 3-year-old filly pace. Kennard Grieser is the owner-trainer of the filly, who toured the Montpelier oval in 2:01.4.
Tatas Flash (Memphis Flash-Matata) remained undefeated after seven starts by capturing the 2-year-old colt pace in 2:08.3. Bob Figgins and Pam and Michelle Riedeman pay the bills on the gelding while Barbie Conner trains and Rodney Conner drives.
Emil Konesky’s Nanner (Ilooklikemymom-Canaco Marlena) took the 3-year-old colt trot in 2:06.1. Mark Headworth is the trainer-driver of Nanner.
Lofty Jessica (Jailhouse Jesse-Lofty Comer) found the winner’s circle in the 2-year-old filly trot after a mile in 2:12.1. John Konesky III is the trainer-driver of the filly and also co-owns her with his son Patrick.
Racing concludes at the Williams County Fair on Tuesday with a 6:30 p.m. post time. Eight harness races and five Trottingbred races are on the card.
