East Rutherford, NJ — Friday night (Feb. 2) brings with it another intriguing 13-race card at The Meadowlands.
The blend of races touches all bases, opening with a division of the GSY Driving Club then composed of trotters and pacers both young and old filling out the races with nine- and ten-horse fields all evening long.
Theresademoninme (post eight, Yannick Gingras) and Opulent Yankee (post nine, Andy Miller) will square off again in the eighth race $20,000 trotting feature. Last week the pair dueled the length of the stretch through a :27 second final quarter before Opulent Yankee just got up on the wire to win the photo.
The horizontal exotics are guaranteed with the Pick-4s and Pick-5s offering remarkable value, the Survivor bet continuing to return substantial payoffs and the last race Hi-5 Jackpot pool over $84,000. Get your free program pages for some of the wagers on the Meadowlands website.
It’s Italian night at the Pink buffet where you may graze on the various delicacies all evening for $29.95.
Post time remains 6:35 p.m.
- Waiting On A Woman “just loves the game” (Thursday, February 01, 2018)
Over the years, Waiting On A Woman has proved himself a tough horse. It’s not a surprise because he’s been that way since the day he was born. He needed to be just to survive. The fastest Maritime-bred trotter of all time nearly died after being born in April 2008 at the Prince Edward Island farm of father-and-son breeders Dave and Mitch Tierney. He battled through multiple bouts of colic and sickness before finally turning the corner and embarking on a career that has seen him win 62 races and $501,844 in purses. Waiting On A Woman gets his next chance to add to his win total Friday (Feb. 2) at the Meadowlands Racetrack.
