Lullaby Blue scores in Alan Myer Series final at Ocean Downs Berlin, MD — The $14,100 Alan Myer Memorial Trotting Series final for fillies and mares was contested on Monday night at Ocean Downs. Victor Kirby drove Lullaby Blue to a 2:00.4 victory. Lullaby Blue, by Credit Winner–Jersey Gal, is a 4-year-old mare trained by John Wilkerson and owned by Wm Venables, Jr. and Joan Venables. Alan Myer was a leading driver at Roosevelt, Liberty Bell and Brandywine. He certainly favored trotters. His whole life was dedicated to harness racing. He drove Nickawampus Leroy to the first sub-2:00 mile in Maryland history at Ocean Downs in 1976. Alan owned, bred and drove Evergreen Heel, the first Delaware sired horse to break 2:00.
