Rainbowinthewest gets live cover, wins in The Meadows feature

Washington, Pa – Rainbowinthewest followed the live cover of Tricky Nick, then blew by him in mid-stretch to capture Wednesday’s (July 8) feature at The Meadows, a $10,800 Conditioned Trot.

Tricky Nick had little trouble clearing the leader, Quality Kemp, who was weakened by a parked-out first quarter. But Tricky Nick was overwhelmed by Rainbowinthewest, who drew off late for Brian Zendt to defeat Tricky Nick by 3-1/2 lengths in 1:54.3. Tamar rallied for show.

The stakes include a pair of Pennsylvania Sires Stakes and two PA Stallion Series events with more than $600,000 in purses up for grabs. Saturday’s card also features a $1,912.68 carryover in the final-race Super Hi-5. First post is 12:45 PM.
