Reminder of Goshen health requirements

by M. Kelly Young, executive director, Harness Horse Breeders of New York

Goshen, NY — Horsemen are reminded to have all health and vaccination documents in order and up-to-date for the approaching Grand Circuit and New York Sires Stake meet in Goshen, N.Y. from June 30-July 4.

Horses competing on any of the five racing days are required to provide a current Coggins and proof of both Rabies and EHV-1 (Rhino) vaccination. All horses coming from out-of-state must also provide a health certificate.

Horsemen are encouraged to fax these required documents to the race office in advance to expedite entry to the grounds. Please fax to (845) 294-3998.

Horsemen and owners competing at Goshen may also fax completed purse authorization forms in advance to ease paperwork on race day. Forms may always be picked up and returned to the race office under the grandstand, but should be completed as quickly as possible following the race in which the purse is earned to ensure that checks are distributed as quickly as possible.

If you have any questions, or to confirm receipt of your faxed documents, please call Goshen Historic Track at (845) 294-5333.
