POMPANO BEACH, FL – Tweedle Dum and Dink Adoo, who finished noses apart in the first leg of the Mack Lobell Trotting Series, will stage a rematch in the $25,000 second leg at Pompano Park on Friday evening. The featured trot has attracted nine entrants and will go as the fourth race on an 11-race program.

Installed as the 3-5 morning-line favorite, Tweedle Dum will start from the rail in the Friday feature for driver Walter Ross, Jr. and trainer Gordon Norris. Tweedle Dum took the opening leg of the series on February 9, trotting the mile in 1:54.2 to prevail in a tight photo finish for owners Diane Norris and Alfred Brotter of Pompano Beach.

Since crossing the wire ninth in the 2006 Mack Lobell Final, Tweedle Dum has won 22 of 26 starts, and hasn’t finished worse than third during that span.

Two starts back, the 7-year-old gelded son of Star Challenge equaled the world record for older geldings on a five-eighths mile track when taking the $15,000 Mack Lobell Preview in 1:53.2, and in the process became the fastest trotter in the 43-year history of Pompano Park.

Dink Adoo, a winner of over $600,000 in his career, is listed as the 9-5 second choice in Friday’s second leg of the Mack Lobell Trotting Series. Trained by Michile Lorenzo for The Panhellenic Stable Corporation of Long Island City, N.Y., the 8-year-old gelded son of Inquirer came up a nose shy of victory in the opening leg of the series one week ago.

A winner in 15 of 26 starts last year, Dink Adoo began his 2007 campaign in the Glorys Comet Series for older trotters at Woodbine, where he finished third in the $42,500 second-leg on Jan. 14 prior to a sixth-place performance in the $76,075 final on Jan. 21.

Wally Hennessey has once again accepted the driving assignment for Dink Adoo, who will start from post six.

Guy Gets Girl has drawn post three for the second leg of the Mack Lobell Trotting Series and will be handled by Pompano Park’s leading driver Bruce Ranger. Trained by Tom Beckette for owner Paul Ministrelli of Brighton, Mich., Guy Gets Girl finished seventh in the Mack Lobell Preview on Feb. 2 before rebounding with a third-place showing in the opening leg where he was beaten 2 ½ lengths.

Victor’s Pursuit, a 5-year-old Illinois-bred mare and the lone female trotter in the Mack Lobell field, enters the Friday feature off a fourth-place effort in the opening leg of the series, her first pari-mutuel start in nearly six months.

A winner of over $260,000 in her career, the daughter of Valley Victor was named Illinois’ top sophomore filly trotter in 2005 after banking $203,256 during her 3-year-old campaign.

Victor’s Pursuit will be driven from post nine by Steve Condren for conditioner John Duer and owner William B. Weaver III of Freehold, N.J.

The $125,000 Mack Lobell Trotting Series will conclude with the $75,000 added final on Saturday, Feb. 24.
