Roach doubles up in Michigan Sire Stakes Finals Saturday

Northville, MI — Thorn Toad (Western Thorn–Native Hanover) captured the $107,925 Michigan Sire Stake Final for three-year-old colt pacers in a final time of 1:56 for winning owners Timothy Roach and Kyle Larner.

Tim Roach also trains and drove the track record holder to victory. Thorn Toad is the current two-year-old colt pace track record holder at Northville Downs setting the record last October in 1:56.3.

Following that victory, Tim Roach guided Tell Me Your Dream to a 2:02.4 victory in the $111,925 Michigan Sire Stake Final for three-year-old filly trotters defeating runner-up Laurens Rose (Skip DeMull).

Catch This Camero (Arrow–Captiva Cam) and driver/trainer Charles Taylor overcame a slow start to surge at the wire to win the $106,325 Michigan Sire Stake Final for three-year-old filly pacers in 2:00.1.

And the final Michigan Sire Stake Final on the program was the $108,325 three-year-old colt trot captured by Arizona Griz (Howard Litt’l Man–Arizona Saturna) for owner Kathy L. Todd and trainer/driver Kim Pluta. This was the second Sire Stake Final win of the weekend for the team of Todd and Pluta who equaled the track record the night before with Cody’s Deal.
