by Daina Kazmaier, Rosecroft Publicity Office

Ft. Washington, MD — This Saturday (July 14), Rosecroft Raceway will be taking the simulcast signal from the Georgian Downs X-treme Horsepower event.

First post from the Ontario track is 5:00 p.m. and C$400,000 in purse money will be offered for the card. X-treme Horsepower is the richest event in the history of the track and several types of races are to be contested throughout the evening. Races include the X-treme Sprint, an eighth of a mile dash; the X-treme Ironman, a 3-1/8 mile race; and an invitational match race featuring two top equine athletes. An Ontario Sires Stakes Gold Final for sophomore colt and gelding pacers is also scheduled.

Several of the fields will also include 18 horses, starting in two tiers behind the gate. All horses carded to race will receive a piece of the pie; the top five finishers earn the standard purse splits, sixth to 10th place are awarded C$500 and all others receive C$200 for their efforts.

Larry Lederman, the voice of Freehold Raceway, will be the announcer for the 11-race card.

Rosecroft’s handicappers, Pete and Matt, will take patrons through the Georgian Downs card with insights and wagering tips.

Post time for Rosecroft’s live card on Saturday is 7:20 p.m.
